I'm not sure why, but I find that ALL the women who are willing to take off their clothes for pictures are charming. A comment was made about less than slender models, and I agree that the stereotypical "model" is great to look at. But I find that there is a beauty and charm in the less than perfect woman that the "model" lacks.

I would have done something to remove the buildings.

It all depends on the confidence the model has that the photogapher will make her look good. It is a relationship of trust between the two that creates successful imagery.

This was our second shoot. She was much more relaxed and even though I shot half the exposures, we got twice the keepers.

Both the male and female form can be very beautiful indeed. But just as I would not pose cos my pecs do not exist, I cant exactly claim to have a six pack my legs are skinny and my knees knobbly then I fail to see how this young lady minus her clothing can be considered attractive? She has a pretty face and Im sure a lovely person but fella you sure as hell have an uphill battle to convince me there is anything beautiful to see once she dumped her kit? Oh and I have not mentioned the appalling ink job yet. I hope this young gal did not charge you for her services coz you woz robbed.
Maybe much darker with lighting to show her womanly curves may work but for Gods sake not full daylight.

The exposure must have been a pain with the bright background.
The pose is awesome and I think that the girl is beautiful. You can see
self confidence in her face.
However the inside walls pull attention away from her. I would like to see her
take up more of the view with less distractions. The outdoors background
was great.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Your attitude illustrates why some teenagers with less than TV star looks commit suicide. I believe that everyone has "their" beauty, and it is my job to bring it out. I'm not shooting for you, but for her. I have no market for these photos, but I'm working with all sorts of physiques to learn to bring that beauty out. You seem to be stuck in the '60s. If you can't see the beauty in her self confidence and inner strength, I'm sorry.
By the way, I agree with you about the ink.

It was a tricky exposure, but I got exactly what I was looking for. I see your point regarding the inside wall. If only it was a log cabin, or grimy factory or foundry.

No my friend I cannot see the beauty in her self confidence and inner strength. I see a young lady who the good Lord has given a less than perfect body, by most standards, who I'm sure has been blessed with other attributes to cover this shortcoming and make it inconsequential. All I suggest is she use those other blessings she has and allow them to blossom whilst fully dressed.
By the way in the 60's we would have smoked a bong or two and then spent our day in the woods screwing the butts off of each other not messing about with cameras and unsuitable models trying to convince one self that you are capturing some elusive inner soul. As I remember it, which can be vague cos of a constant and sustained diet of dope LSD and cocaine, those times were more honest without the politically correct BS you have come out with here.
This picture of your model and some of your comments sorta lead me to believe you get off on taking pictures of nude women which is fine if it keeps you off the streets, just admit it dear boy. Baring your soul with honesty will I'm sure make you feel better.

Actually, photographing naked girls keeps me ON the streets. I truly enjoy it, or I would spend my days on the computer looking at porn. (Or on the UHH) I was born in the '40s, lived the small town mid-western life in the '50s, "enjoyed" my two tours in South East Asia in the '60s and took up your lifestyle in the '70s. I find it amusing you accuse me of being PC, as spending my childhood summers in either Wyoming or Montana would not prepare me for that. And my grandchildren would surely argue against that accusation.
I understand your point, although I kind of wish I didn't. You won't find an ugly woman, clothed or not, on TV, magazines or movies. My purpose in this is to find out why some people, who apparently have NO redeeming social value find a mate and live happily ever after. I have shot a couple of beautiful women who I could not stand, but they were accompanied by their lovers. I have shot others who have allowed themselves to be used and abused, modifying there appearance to please "the one" and who finally see the light and break out of the bondage. Those are the ones who I most want to photograph, and if I was Phillippe Halsman or Yosef Karsh I would be able to bring out their spirit and soul.
So, I do enjoy photographing naked women. Sometimes they are physically beautiful, and sometimes spiritually so, and I will continue doing this.

I rest my case buckwheat dear boy. It is by your own admission a simple choice for you of snapping naked gals or porn.

Well! That was rather condescending. But I admit defeat in trying to get you to believe there is beauty in everyone. I'm not shooting for TV commercials or Penthouse. (Playboy doesn't do nudes anymore) I'm shooting for the woman, the woman who has come to believe that her value is not from physical beauty, but her beauty from within. I'm sorry you are so shallow that you can't see that. I have followed your input until now, but, I know that you won't care that I have lost my respect for you. You may now return to your fellows in "the attic".

You know? I am not going to continue this "conversation". You seem to only want to see centerfold types in your view, and I'm not going to convert you.
With the experience I have of expats and their misogynistic view, I can only resign from this field. I don't know your background, but I do know of the Filipinos' attitude towards others who choose to live their senior years in their country. I don't know if you are one who couldn't make it in your home country, and chose to force your "superiority" on a third world population, or that you are truly one who enjoys the peaceful and laid back ways of your adopted country.
But I do know that I will continue enjoying my life, and my hobby, whether you like it or not!
