Looking for ideas to display prints on a large wall without making a bunch of holes. Prints would be on foam core, various sizes, 4x6 to 13x20 or so. I have an area about 8' wide by 3' high. Want to be able to take them down and put up new ones every now and then. A system of narrow shelves would work but looking for other ideas. Thanks in advance for the advise.

Thanks. I knew it was Velcro but couldn't remember the name "Command Strips". Great product.

Interesting suggestion. Question? What will the adhesive side of Velcro do to the paint on the wall?

If you're willing to invest in something galleries use, you can check out Walker displays at http://www.walkerdisplay.com

Basically, their system involves moulding mounted at the top of the wall and hooks and cables (or solid acrylic rods) that hang off the moulding - you can move anything sideways or up and down and there are no marks on the walls themselves.

Just a thought.

When my son was growing up we made one wall glued on cork tiles for him to attach posters etc. Of course wall has glue instead in stead of holes but the look was great for a boys room. After he left, the glue residue wasn't that hard to sand down and after 2 coats of latex paint, same as before.

Good paint, shouldn't bother it.

I like the idea of velcro and command strips. The command strips are removable with no residue and the velcro allows the placement, movement and removal of the mounted photos.

If it will hold the print, it will rip the top layer of paint off. The 3M removable hooks are the way to go

Pegboard? Or maybe picture moulding (crown cove) with down wires? It sort of depends on whether the display is formal, casual, office, commercial (for sales), or museaum.

My solution for hanging prints...........On-line I found Homosote, which takes pushpins very well. It came in 4'x2' size. I bought 4 and mounted them together directly on the wall giving me a 4x8 foot bulletin board. I rounded one corner of each piece so so when mounted together it's less severe. Oh...forgot, I covered each piece in a light grey felt. I found that using 'finishing washers' under the mounting screws gives it a nice professional look.

Push-Pins....I too have both mounted and unmounted prints, under no circumstances do I put the pins through the print. For the mounted prints I push the pins all the way into the board (4 pins per print) and use pin 'pusher' as a mini bracket top and bottom. For the unmounted prints I take the point of the pin and drive it into the board just at the edge of the print being careful not to pierce the the print. The prints have been up for about 4 months now and so far nothing has fallen down. I'm
very pleased with the concept. I can change the display with no hassle.
