Beautiful photos. I have a relative that moved to Japan and is teaching the English language there. He came home in Jan and commented on how it was so brown here due to no snow and as soon as he got home there was 5" of snow there in the area he lives in. He said it's the first time ever. Keep up the nice work.

Very good shots.
Is this Hokkaido, where the Sapporo '64 Olympic snow ski events were held?

I have very good memories of Hokkaido and the people who live there. As a young soldier and student I spent 27 months on Hokkaido and skied two winters, 1960 & 1961 on the site of the Olympic events. The Japanese Self Defense Forces where practicing for two years building the ICE sculptures prior to the Olympics. What a great time we had and Canon Camera was the dominant brand at the time, as Nikon was just emerging onto the professional market. I was shooting a Canon IV with 55mm f1.8 and 28mm f2.8 and an 85mm f1.5. 90% of the shots were on color slide film and mostly Fuji. A quick look today, 2012, the colors have faded or migrated, yet some are passable.
Thank you, for your reply that keyed my memory. jrr
