I just ordered a 20 pack of 8 x 10 Polar Pearl Metallic paper from Red River! If I really like it, I may pop for a pack of 13 x 19 later. Can't wait to try it!

I have read lots of good stuff about it on here, which is why I decided to go for it.

You will love it! Especially for images with bright colours. They will literally pop off the paper.

I'm a big fan of Red River Paper, practically never order/use anything else. They sell many fine papers, metallic included. While I do like metallic paper, I use it for a small percentage of my shots. Shiny things like firetrucks and cars. Prefer other paper for portraits and landscape work. Have fun with it. Best of luck.

I have never played around with B&W but it sounds interesting to find out what it would look like.

Interesting question. I have never tried B&W in anything but a fairly standard glossy or matte. Guess that's a holdover from my darkroom days. Would be interesting to try and the Red River site does recommend it for B&W use as well as color. I will look for an appropriate image and give it a try -- perhaps even a portrait which is contrary to my current thinking, but you never know. Columbus took a chance!

When I get this first pack, I will try a couple select B&W just for grins to see how it looks.

Happy to say my Red River paper arrived yesterday. This morning I printed my first picture on stand I must say it really does make the colors pop. I looked through my pictures and tried to find one with lots of color and came up with this picture of ceramic skulls that I took at a vendors table in Santa Fe. You can't tell how it looks on the metallic paper, but you can see that there is a lot of color. It came out pretty cool on the RR paper.

I would expect that would be an awesome image on metallic paper!
