That's fantastic! Since this applies only to older cameras, it should have minimal impact on their sales. I doubt someone would buy an expensive gray market camera hoping it could be repaired sometime in the future.

You know I never understood their policy Jerry -- They allow their authorized dealers to sell grey market but we are not going to fix them, if nothing else with the way their financials have been I would think that money is money regardless of where the camera was intended to be sold. If it's grey market then charge a surcharge but it is still revenue for the company at the end of the day. I wonder where places like Square Deal and other 3rd party insurers actually get their cameras repaired when you have a problem with one. Someone saw the light thankfully even if it's not the entire line-up of Nikon products.

You also notice that it was Nikon Rumors.

Right, but this was reported as fact, not rumor. They chose a bad name for their site. Also, they say that these cameras were added to the list, implying that other gray market cameras can also be repaired.

Yes, it is confusing. The thing is, a gray market camera makes zero money for Nikon USA, so they don't want to repair it "for free." It is strange that authorized dealers are allowed to sell gray market gear.

Nikon does not honor gray market, period.
If I have to buy refurb I prefer Cameta Camera.

Adorama should be added. They sold Nikon refurbished D7200 cameras earlier this year for $769. Naturally they are sold out. That offer is probably gone forever.

Apparently, they do now.
