I added one label: Spotted Cucumber beetle (Diabrotica undecimpunctata).

Your katydid is possibly a Dichopetala catinata nymph.

Thanks for the label. I started using Insect Identification Org. I usually get lost when I get to the part about body segments or shortly thereafter. I also use Texas A&M's insects.tamu.edu/fieldguide. I will add austinbug.com to my collection of resources. Can you recommend an easy to use insect identification website?

I'm sure by now you realize I take the photo for the results of the photo, not identification of the insect. But I realize I should try to label them. In college I had a choice of Entomology or Geology as an elective. I chose Geology. I don't regret the decision, but now I wish I had taken both. Bill

Thanks. Sometimes it's just plain luck. I started this about a month ago. I've learned if I don't go out to take photos my chances of getting a photo are ZERO. If I do go out regularly my chances are a little better then zero. I waste a lot of pixels getting the photos I want. But I think it's worth it and I anjoy it. Bill

Start adding tags to your photos, like spider or katydid. Makes finding them later much easier.
