The D800 uses a different remote - not to ML-L3. Some of you have the D800. Can you tell us how the new remote is different?

Whoops! It looks like there is no Nikon wireless remote for the D800, although there is a place to plug in a wired remote.

Good question Jerry, and perhaps someone can explain why the battery grip cost $450.00

Not being a Nikon user{ YET} can they use a pocket Wizard
I use a TT1 and A TT5 ,But I shoot Canon for now ,Bit
pricey but they sure work good, I also have to use a trigger cable with it .

A second on the "Pocket Wizzard".

No doubt given the numbers they will ultimately produce of D800's there will be a flood of Chinese knock off products.

Meantime the hard wire connection is of the ten pin type.

Does the D800 have IR receptors?

Well, I guess that's a closed issue, then.

Jerryc41,

Stay tuned those crafty knock off guys will come to the rescue !

Jammers
We too are clueless on the cost factor of the grip? As you know it's double the cost of other Nikon similar branded grips. The full list is over six hundred large? Best I've seen is about four fifty. I see no extra features to justify the added cost?

Great..I'm I to understand my PocketWizard Flex transceiver and Mini TT1 won't work with the D800?

That is the combo I use on My Canon,The way I understand it is it wont work with the mirror lock up , I always go to pocket wizard web site and they will list the camera and the compatibility.
