Mediterranean architecture - 1946

I thought somebody might be able to help me eliminate the dust spots in the sky of this 70-year-old shot, which was scanned from my 2-1/4"X2-1/4" contact print. Any suggestions?

From the architectural viewpoint, this shows the use of awnings in a time when there were no air conditioning units for apartments. Also note the absence of cars, due to gas rationing in those early postwar years in France.

If you download it as 'store original', i would be honored to do what I can for you. I am sure others will also. You will get many to choose from.

Not the best as I lost the roof railing.

If you used the dust and scratch filter, it has trouble discerning dust and scratches from fine detail within the image that needs to be kept.

Right, and to top it off I compounded the problem by using the mixer brush over the railing. If I had not mentioned it I'm wondering how many would have noticed.

SHG, The only reason I noticed is that years ago I attempted to remove dust from an image using the noise filter path. I hated the way the image looked as a result. That typical dust/scratch filter appearance was burned in permanently. I'd rather put on some music and just retouch each of the spots as needed.
