A natural light image taken in 2010 in a vacant apartment above my studio on a cold morning just after sunrise
Mangles, that's a very interesting image. I like everything about it. I never really think about shooting much older women when I'm thinking about shooting any kind of skin.
I have done a few Boudoir sessions with about 40 year olds but they looked much younger. Your model on the other hand appears(to me) more than her 55 years.
There was the Japanese photographer, a woman I believe, that did a body of work shooting nudes of Japanese women that were 100 years of age and older!
Anyway, your shot has a very beautiful quality to it photographically. Mixing the elegant fashion and juxtaposing with the older woman that appears to have had an even harder life. Lots of story left to our imagination and punctuated with the great light!! Great image!!!!

I started working with Sharon when she first started modeling just after her 48th Birthday. She was a great model, even though she no longer poses. She is a great photographer and helped many new models with makeup. There are many images of her on my web site.
I like the lighting in this very much. Gives that lazy Saturday afternoon feel. It reminds me of an old Western Cowboy Movie shot in B&W in the old town hotel. like it. Great feel to it.
Manglesphoto, you are a master of light and dark.
The dark light in mass balance is excellent. The irregular lighting of the windowed light gives sectioning of the photo ... we can pause at each section to see. variations in tonality suburb. The facial expression of a woman that has seen life is that of the Peggy Lee song "is that all there is." This woman has grown older and her figure is exquisitely young 20's... yet she knows those years have passed as does Sharon!!

If that's all there is my friends
Then let's keep dancing
Let's break out the booze and have a ball
If that's all there is"

Looking old for her age?Yes she does has some deep lines that are more pronounced with the dramatic light, she saw too much sun in her youth, I can see the damage I too have on my arms similarly... I think her posture is hunched a bit, so it all adds up. However the skin that didn't see as much sun looks lovely- makes it all an interesting mix for me. The photo is telling a story, looks like someone past their prime trying to allure, and its working.... and that's what a photo should do. I'll bet with things changed around a bit here and there, she would look just the opposite, she could be whatever you wanted to create...
I'll bet she's fun and beautiful in person- keep shooting her!
