Standard shots are of the bride and groom (together and separately) and the rest of the wedding party. Some photographers like to do a closeup of the bride and groom's hands emphasizing the rings. Then shots of the people at the tables and on the dance floor. As mentioned above check out a wedding photographers's page or a wedding album if you have one or can borrow one.

Stay away from his wedding, as a photographer that is. I just read your previous posts and you are not ready.

If it is a garden party you might want to think about before and after pictures, as well as the event itself.

What were the weeds like before (see title), how was the garden like afterwards? Did you get any good dirt in your pictures?

A few formal shots with everybody looking happy are generally appreciated, plus a few candids with people up to their elbows and expressing themselves can sometimes be good, or alternatively can be really unappreciated.

Guess it depends on the situation.

It's your row to hoe....

Take what interests you.

If they have an enlightened photographer they will invite you to also shoot their setups.

Not all who style themselves as pros get that.

Are they pulling weeds before or after the wedding? You probably want to do all the photography before they get grass stains on the wedding gown or the best man rips his tux from bending over for the dandelions.

Yes, of course I see there was a typo. But it is a funny one.

Get a book on wedding photography, and/or look for resources online, especially on YouTube. Wedding photos fall into two categories: posed shots (formals) and candids. You will want to shoot both. Most importantly, don't walk in there without educating yourself and being thoroghly prepared. You will asking for disaster.
Here are a few resources I came across:

Don't doubt it for a second... you are taking on a huge responsibility. I would have great reservations about going it alone, given your lack of experience.

If you could find someone who has worked on weddings as a photographer's assistant (second shooter) and bring them along, it will save you a lot of heartache and help you with both photography and logistics. Introduce this person as your assistant, although in reality they will be providing the expertise. This isn't very expensive and a REALLY good investment in your sanity and future family relations.
Find an assistant by Googling "Photographer's assistant <your location>" You may also have good results by calling a local professional photog, explaining that you're an amateur family member, and asking who they can recommend as an assistant. Some will see you as a competitor, but I bet someone will help you.

Feel free to send me a personal message if I can be of more help. I have about 50 weddings under my belt. Best of luck >Alan
