When we were at the American Cemetary in Normandy, France. They played Taps and we stopped walking and then a large WW2 plane flew overhead. I wonder if it was one of these?

Hi, thanks, the B17 was finishing its display and heading out over channel, right place right time.

She's a beauty! I love those old warbirds, especially the B-17's. I've had 2 occasions to see Sentimental Journey up close at air shows. The Belle is being restored here at Wright-Patterson AFB in the museum of the Air Force. Thanks for the photos.

When I was in the RAF flying Lincoln bombers, and those before me flying Lancasters. We had a little song about the B-17......."Lots of amunition and a teeny-weeny bomb"!
Great aircraft, despite it's small bomb load though.

They are all good but the second one is great. Several years ago my kids bought me a ride in a B17. Not cheap but worth every penny. Do it--you'll love it. They allow you to walk around inside the plane after take off so bring plenty of batteries and extra memory cards.
Good work on you pix.
