A picture posted under the topic "Reflections" in the main photography discussion reminded me of this one.
This image is part of a four seasons study of this barn - in fact I'll probably add a couple of the others later. I was there one evening last year when the sun was perfectly positioned behind me to get this reflection that I hadn't seen before.
The barn is a bit south of Fargo and in an area that will likely become urban (or at least suburban) in the next few years. There have already been significant changes to the scene here, and the Fargo park district has "improved" the view by adding a boat launch, pier and fishing area. They do add value to recreation, but detract from the beauty of the location.
Same barn taken during the flood of 2009. (Further vantage point, higher elevation but same angle)
Two more renditions of the barn and a "winter wonderland" effect caused by hoarfrost immediately north of the barn.
Thanks - that's probably more snow than you usually see in Florida.
The only snow we get is snow jobs by the elections boards! Spent 18 months in Goose Bay, Labrador in the USAF... never want to see snow again... but did love the movie Fargo!
I really like the first and last pictures but the first is my favorite by far.
Thanks for the compliments. Here are four more, just to prove that I am obsessed with this barn (or at least that's my wife's opinion). The first one was taken very close to the high water mark of the flood, and I thought the barn would be gone. Not so.
By the way, I work for a company that makes chipper-shredders, although ours was not used in the movie.

Nice stuff..........
I really enjoyed this whole series--beautiful! The first shot took me away instantly, love the second to the last, the last (snow-capped trees) and the one with blurred (vignette) where you can see reflection on the barn's roof. Very nice...thank you for sharing these!

That first one should be printed & hanging on the wall. Made me stop and smile :-)
.
? little touch of HDR ? well done.
Thanks. I had this printed on double float metal print from Bayphoto. This print is 24 x 16, and it is mounted on top of a 28 x 20 aluminum sheet separated by 1/2" of foam. The back sheet is a desaturated slightly sepia copy of the same image at about 25% opacity.
I had it hanging in my office for about a year, but it's on display with other prints of mine at a local restaurant / wine bar.

I enjoyed the different effects. Thanks for showing the possibilities.
