There is an easy way to get rid of the guy wires in PS (I have CS5). Using the automatic healing brush, size your brush just slightly larger than the wire. Click and release on one end of the wire, move to the other end, hold down the shift key, click and release again. Hmmm....You may have to select content aware before you start, but don't think so. I am not at my computer right now, so can';t run it through. If your wire is straight it should all dissappear, if your wire sags then you may have to clear it by segments. Good luck, and Nice pond shot.

cajon thanks for the tips on eliminating the guywires. I imagine you could use the clone tool on pse 10 to do this but would take longer.

Yes, it would take longer, and plrobably not look as good as the healing brush would. Try it, I think you will pleasently suprised with the results.

Sorry, content aware is not needed to use the spot healing brush. Just click once on the beginning, then hold down shift and click once on the end point.
The content aware comes in handy when you want to cover over some smaller bad object and have it fill in with the surrounding colors and textures. Make a selection of what you want to get rid of, select edit> fill > then select content aware from the drop down menu > click ok. It will not work everytime, but when it does it does a pretty good job of blending in.

Hi Cajon. could you try and remove the wire from these cool clouds? I don't have editing software other than what is on my macbook. I'd love to see the effect. Thanks in advance!

Here is the picture without the wire. Sorry, but I had to down size it to get it to load. Ifyou need me to send the whole photo (72 x 44 inches) let me know your email and I will be happy to send it. This took only ONE atempt to get rid of the wire and have the background fill in.

I see there is still a slight trace of the wire, but it now resembles the clouds and would not take much work to make it look like it has always been there, or not been there.

Thanks so much Cajon. WOW 77x44 inches? That seems huge to me and great for a shot that would look good huge. As I said earlier, I'm new to pictures and have no idea about size and pixels and bites. Those experienced photogs can have a chuckle now. I've got a lot to learn. I should really take some classes. I totally get the idea of composition and some basic rules regarding that but camera set up and editing possibilities are foreign territory for me. What kind of software would you suggest I invest in? Something with good instruction would be good. As I also said previously, the only editing ability is what came with my Macbook pro which has Iphoto on it standard. I have had some fun playing with that. I see so many wonderful things here on UHH Thanks for your help and any advice you may have!

I am FAR from being an expert or even very knowledgable about photoshop. When I got my 1st digital camera someone GAVE me his photoshop program (PS-7) which he never had used. Being on the bottom of the food chain (not much money) I viewed, saved, and practiced every video that I could find on the internet that had to do with PS7. The same goes with my cameras, I started with a little point and shoot 3MP, graduated to a pro-sumer Sony 6.1 MP, which I have now. I am now itching to get a hold of a Canon T2i, T3i, or (drool) a D60. Perhaps other members will be able to reccomend a godd easy program for you to start with. Oh, and thanks for the kind words.

thanks again Cajon. i just had a Sony point and shoot which actually took some pretty nice pictures. My husband saw me having such fun with that little camera and he blew my mind at christmas with a Canon Rebel T2i !!! I love my camera and know that it can do way more than I even realize yet! I've taken well over 10,000 pictures since i got it (2010 xmas ) half of those junk and or no big deal shots, but I did get plenty of nice ones too!
I wish you well!
