Paint is easy and I think it's free and/or included with Windoze.

Paint will work, but it will over compress and ruin your images. Try ACDPro, which has a "free" version that I am pretty sure will do what you want to do.

I've never used their resizing software but their image viewer is very good, IMO.

I have used Irfranview for years and it works well for both resizing, renaming, easy cropping and color balance edits. It is a free app.

I generally use the resizer in PSE, but for fast and easy, especially when I need to resize several photos, I use fotosizer.

I use Irfanview (free) to resize one or 100.

I have found this very good for resizing - just set up your default sizes and compression you want (I use 10 x 10 inches which is a good size for email and posting online). I just wished there was a way I could batch it for multiple folders.

Save your time and money. You do not need one. Whether you print your own or send out, the printer's rip does it for you. Just crop to the aspect ratio of the final print and use about 300 dpi. For emails, lower the jpg quality or file size to a maximum of 1 M. For websites, resize to what they want and 96 dpi.

Agree. Just use PSE or PS and adjust with image size.

Resizing an be set and modified for several outputs at one time with Capture One Pro. It's a normal process in the final processing.

I use their resizing software and it works fine, e.g., stretching and squeezing a 4x6 (2x3 ratio) to 5x7.

onOne Resize 10 --- it is available as a "stand-alone" program and it is also part of the onOne Photo 10 suite of processing programs.

Most resizing programs are easy to use once you learn them.
