Ophelia's Child (Some may find this a rather dark subject)

Poole Harbour reveals it's darker side. I was in two minds as to whether I should post this - I hope it offends nobody, but understand that some may not like it. Do you like it (or not) and why?

I can’t say that I like or dislike the image itself magnetoman….what I can say is it is well done. Good job.

Not.. Love the colors, the paleness and mood. But the perspective and scale seems off to me. A downward look would miss the great mood you have though.

Edit, would love to see this theme with same color, but looking down, lose some sky, and add dark water plants!

It's very well done, not exactly what I want hanging in my livingroom, but it's well done. The bleak mood works well, and it's edgy with the body. Good for a horror illustration.

I think it is wonderful and creative. But no, I don't want it on the wall:). Nice color tones. You managed the lights and darks very convincingly to create the impression of realistic depth, something I still struggle with though I'm usually working with enhancing fog rather than creating floating corpses. The same principles apply I think.

This one could sell as a book cover for a gothic murder mystery. I'm very impressed.

I think it is technically outstanding and emotionally depressing. (Especially because I'm still in shock over the news from Florida). I think it is a very interesting photograph that is in no way offensive. Disturbing yes, offensive no. I surely would not put it on my wall...."the stuff nightmares are made out of".

Its well done for sure but the scale does not work for me. To make it nightmarish it needs to be more realistic so the body is scaled down to human size in a smaller area of water. But very creative my friend.

It is dark but not nearly as offensive as an image soaked in Topaz lol lol lol.

Thank you Frank, I too cannot make my mind up on it!

Yes, the scale is what bothers me most about it. I'll have a look through my stock shots to see if I have something to use along the lines you suggest. Thanks for commenting Piet.

No, definitely won't be on any wall round here! Thanks for commenting.

Thanks Min, I find fog and smoke seriously difficult to process or create the way I want it - this was easier. Thanks for your comments, much appreciated.

I did think over whether to post, but decided it was a world away from the Florida happenings, but didn't consider the mood that may have left people in - hope I haven't caused pain. Thanks for your comments, much appreciated.

Well of course I did consider giving it a dip in Tope but managed to resist!

The scale is the big problem I think - I'm trying a heavy crop. It wasn't meant to be horror as such, more Ophelia-ish, if you see what I mean. Thanks for commenting Billy, I look forward to it!
