Saturday was a beautiful day for a photo friend and I to head up Hwy 80 in Marion to Roan Mountain in time to photograph the rhododendron blooms--along with a few stops for a mirror lake and waterfalls along the way.

I always like to go hiking with you. You do all the walking and I get to enjoy the mountain scenery.
Beautiful series, Diane. I enjoyed these very much!

Wish I had someone to do the hiking for ME! I hate to admit I was slap wore out at the end of the day--and I have a week of hiking coming up next month when I head out to Colorado. Man, do I ever miss the days when I had my horses!

Glad to have you join in, AzPicLady. Quite a change in scenery from my recent Southwest trip shares. It was nice to get out for a day and not be snowed on, sand blasted, or quick-frozen from a cold wind!!

When we started up the mountain I hadn't given any thought to stopping at the lake; but, as we passed by and I saw how smooth the water was, I hit the brakes and pulled right over. I've never seen it so mirror-like before. Glad you enjoyed the scenery from our mountains, Sylvias, and thanks so much for the thumbs up!
