Saturday was a beautiful day for a photo friend and I to head up Hwy 80 in Marion to Roan Mountain in time to photograph the rhododendron blooms--along with a few stops for a mirror lake and waterfalls along the way.

When we started up the mountain I hadn't given any thought to stopping at the lake; but, as we passed by and I saw how smooth the water was, I hit the brakes and pulled right over.
