I've watched the transformation of the old Transbay terminal into a state of the art Salesforce Tower for the last 2 1/2 years now. The new structure is about one third complete. The iron workers on the job continue to amaze me. These guys have nerves of steel and the patience of a saint. Shots were taken last week where these guys continue to work even on this very windy day. Please download for best resolution.
Your right, it takes a nerves of steel for them to work that high. When they built the tall buildings and bridges in New York they had to use native americans from out west.
Hi Erich, thanks for looking. My office used to be on the South side, but we moved to a different floor last year. These shots were taken from the roof from the 40th floor. This building will be 200 feet higher than ours once completed.

Amazing shots. If that is from your office, it amazes me that you get anything done. I would be watching them all day.
Hi there, yes for certain. Almost all construction activity in San Francisco (and there is still a lot of it going on) is done by union trades people. They make a good salary, but deserve it due to their skills and risks involved.
Nice ones Chris. It would be a cold day in the hot place before you would catch me dancing around on a girder. I'm not a big fan of heights either, especially the wide open types.
