Has anyone used PayPal to buy from Adorama or know if they accept Payment from PayPal (I know I can call Adorama). Here is the thing I have made an offer to
Greentoe (Has been mention on here before) to purchase a Sigma 150-600mm (sport) lens which Adorama has accepted, but are not set up at this time to accept PayPal as per Greentoe. Now Greentoe needs me to pay with a standard credit card. I would like a comments from Hog members. I am overly suspicious sometimes!
Oh the offer that was accepted was $1475.00 that's not bad! Thanks to all
Doug

You are getting a $2000 lens for $1475. What's wrong with it? You know,..If something is too good to be true... I have the Sport model and there is NO way I'd sell it that cheap. Unless of course it is a gray market, which means you'd NEVER get is serviced by Sigma here in the States.

Be careful using Pay Pal. There are scamers who have made up authentic looking fake pay pal documents and attempt to get merchandise by saying money is in Pay Pal account when it isn't.
Be certain money is in Pay Pal account before shipping any merchandise.

Why does there need to be something wrong with it? I got a like new, refurb Sport directly from Sigma for $1,500 shipped.

Greentoe makes a point of saying that their merchandise is not gray market and carries an USA warranty. I don't understand why Adorama won't accept Pay Pal. It maybe that Greentoe won't accept Pay Pal.

Oh....is is Greentoe that won't take PayPal?

This is really confusing.

According to Greentoe:

"..On the checkout screen you can enter your USA issued credit card or choose to checkout with paypal..."

PS: Greentoe looks legit, they've been around a while and there's no negative stuff about them that I see. I wouldn't worry about it. Apparently they just negotiate the price, they are just a middle man.

If I'm reading it correctly, you are buying from Greentoe and Adorama is their supplier for this item. Just like buying through Amazon and Adorama shipping the item. I have done this and Adorama handles returns, etc, but Amazon handles the money which means their methods and policies prevail. I had no issues with my Amazon purchase and subsequent return which was handled by Adorama.
