RS Loc: W Columbia, SC

I, like so many of the others, just love taking such pictures of old barns and houses,
and I like the one you share here.
We drove home from FL thru GA a couple days ago up US-301 into SC. I managed to
get a few shots of old buildings along the way, but we were pushed on time.
We, also, passed so many old closed down motels which the owners had to walk away
from way back when the interstates took away so much of the traffic from many of those
towns.
I almost always have the thought of what might have been going through those peoples'
minds way back then as they walked away from homes and/or businesses for the last time;
- - were they leaving on a happy note and/or were there perhaps a few tears?
- - did they even bother to lock the doors?
- - did they look back over their shoulder to say 'goodbye'?
I keep telling my wife that we have to get back out some day when we can take our time
and photograph some of those sites. Some day . . .
