This link might help - should take you to the manual for the camera...copy and paste the link into your browser
ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/camera/om/dmc-zs60_adv_en_om.pdf
Just do it over and download the PDF manual for the camera in English. I download PDF manuals for cameras that don't insert complete manuals in the box.

Even though you don't read German the steps will be the same as before. Use the manual for a visual step by step pressing the appropriate buttons to get to the language screen. Now, simply look for the EN entry and press that.
Or remove the batteries, regular and system, then replace to reset the camera to a base configuration. Then start the set up all over.
You should be good to go from here. If not, with a little help from Rosetta Stone you should be able to learn German in no time.

I feel so stupid....I went to the Panasonic site and this is what they say:
'How do I change the language on my camera?
The Language option can be found in the set-up menu of the camera. This is the spanner icon in the record mode menu.
Make sure that the camera is not in IA mode when accessing the set-up menu as not all the options are displayed.'
I have done that, but, all is in German and even with Google Translate, I can not get to change the language. I have taken the battery out, but, I knew that that would not change the language. UGH!!
I am afraid of pressing too many buttons, but, I can do a "reset" once I can get to English!! if I ever do!!
I thank all of you for your patience with me...
This may or may not help:
Do you have the German-language manual as well? If not download that pdf.
Then open both files to the same page (any page) and see if they look similar (a page with pictures would be easiest to compare). If they are, go to the appropriate page in the English-language manual, then open the German to the same page, and see if that way you can make sense of it.
(I did this a long time ago with a Dutch- and English-language manual because I wanted my brother to look at a specific article and his knowledge of English is next to non-existent, but it worked).

You don't need to read the language to get this done.
EXAMPLE: If the manual shows language as being the 4rth entry then go to the 4rth entry on your cameras menu. It matters not what language is shown or if you can read it. Press the 4rth entry for a list of languages. Look for an entry with EN or English and press it.
As to the battery, I said remove the regular (which you did) AND the internal (which you did not) usually like a watch battery. This battery is what holds your settings while you change your regular batteries so you don't have to continually set up your camera on every battery change.

Thank YOU everyone for all of your kind answers. I got it. By George, I got ENGLISH!! Pressed all those little bottoms, and finally a little banner on the top asked in English if I would like to reset all. What a joy to finally understand. Hope you all have a fine shoot day!!

I don't find the instruction to press bottoms anywhere but if it worked for you, Great! Yeah, yeah, but I couldn't help myself. :=}

Some years ago I bought a second-hand Nikon D40. Unexpectedly, the language was set to Russian by the previous owner, which I can't read. So I downloaded the camera's (English) manual and used it as a guide to navigate to the language settings in the camera's menu, and set it to English. Done. Honestly, it wasn't all that difficult to do. It was fun.
