Ha! They used to nest on the back porch. Drives the cats nuts. Thought I would try some houses this year.

I saw my first Hummer this weekend. Just once in the yard. But he didn't come to the feeder.

Ok - there's one in every crowd and I'll be that one today I guess. The photos are ok EXCEPT - the bird isn't focused in very sharp. Don't know what camera you used - I have an XTi and when shooting anything that's in motion use the sports setting - it kills the motion and blur. Just an idea.

You are right. These were just quick shots while I was out in the yard working. I will get serious about them this week and post some better ones. Was just fun to see them back after a long winter.

I'm already seeing fledglings here in SE Texas! I said I would stop feeding after I saw them so the birds would quit mooching off me and eat some of the 90 billion mosquitoes around here, but when I did let the feeders get empty they started dive bombing my windows!

We are fortunate here in Oregon because there is a breed of hummer that spend the winter with us. It's the Anna's.
