For those who struggle with off camera flash and settings and how far away to put them and how to set the power to get what f/stop...this is a pretty slick trick.
This isn't new but it's useful. It's a "rope-light-meter" to quickly tell you where to set your flash and to what power.

Great tip. Love the low tech, almost infallible. This isn't quite the the same, but it's a helpful site for setting up lighting for human subjects.
