Taken in fall light, again from my travels around the neighborhood.

Perfect light; I can't wait for summer to be over, LOL

I like the added interest of the line of bare trees framing this abandoned building.

OK--I am officially embarrassed for having broken my own rule of proofreading. Ten lashes for me!

The title should read, "The Old Corn Crib."

I am ashamed of myself, old English teacher that I am.

Thanks, Linda. Fall does give some interesting light. This was taken on one of our few days of nice light last fall. Most of our days were muddy cloudy.

I'm attaching another version if you're interested.

That I do. Together, my son and I have about 125 acres in a rural area. The original 80 acres have been in the family for over 100 years, and I can't imagine living anywhere else.

It's hard to un-see that beautiful warm light, but I think the b&w has some great possibilities - either with more detail in the building + a little lightening of the central "lines" of the field to draw us in, or as something taken to further high-contrast, for a menacing or spooky mood.

Nice one, John. I grew up in rural Ohio (my backyard was soybeans) and worked summers during college in Madison, Indiana, on the Ohio River. Lots of scenes like this all about (and me without a camera back then, lol). Enjoyed this one.
