How change to get better?

At first glance it looks like a nice shot. I like the composition, contrast and colors look good. But, if you download and zoom in you'll see that the lens is focused on the stems behind the blue flowers - the flowers are just about the only thing not in focus. You might want to try spot focus or manual focus to make sure the subject is in focus.

Thank you SonyA580 for the reply. You are quite correct on the focus. What I was having trouble with was the Sony a6000 focusing. I was on manual and flexible spot. I had put the brackets on the lower left 1/3, 1/3 point but when I turned the lens barrel to focus the camera magnified the view and shifted the spot (because the light was behind me the LCD screen was useless - gotta find away around that, big floppy hat). The bloom I was on has aged too much, but there was another bud so I can try again. The scene is our back your garden pond. Thanks again.
