I got very lucky this morning and found a wonderfully friendly and curious Painted Bunting along a country road in Anderson TX. I spent 20-30 minutes with him. What fun!

Great captures, to find a cooperative painted bunting is a rare occurrence.

The thing that's challenging with them is getting the yellow/green on their back to show up in the photos...most of my shots only show the red and blue. This is my first year ever seeing them so I'm still in awe when I find them!

What a beautiful bird beautifully photographed. My only painted bunting shots were last year in North Carolina. We have quite a few Indigo Buntings around here but I've never seen a Painted one.

Well, that makes us even --- I've never seen an Indigo Bunting! It's on my bird bucket list! :-)
