Rolling Through the Grass

Since racing bicycles is one of my sports, I shoot a LOT of bike racing.
In a lot of my sports shooting, I like to shoot really tight as well as mix journalism with art.
Here I caught the lead pack of the Men's Elite race at the Sea Otter Classic in April. The Otter is the largest bike race in the US!
I took this at a low angle to submerge them in the grassy hillside giving a more artistic result.
Thanks for looking!!

Just another day at the office for these guys!

Linda, thanks for the compliments. I'm glad you enjoyed the image. I try to do all my photography from a less common angle. It always gives an image a more unusual view. I like to include environment to give an image a more complex and engaging subject.
Thanks

That is a very good angle. Is the Sea Otter Classic a one day event?

Marion, the Otter is a 5 day event with every kind of bicycle racing there is.
There are about 10,000 amateurs that compete as well as Pros from all over the world. It's held at the Laguna Seca Raceway near Monteray, CA.
Thanks for looking and asking!!

5 days? Maybe a class for me, and my ol' Merlin Extralight?
Thanx SS,
Marion

Marion...., a Merlin Extralight?!?!
Holly crap, that's an unobtanium machine and a half!!
Not sure about that Thud-Buster though!! I guess as long as the elastomer is still good, why not. LoL
You bet there's a class for you.
Its the old man's category. All old grey-haired guys and ex-hippies like us!
Next April, bring that mean machine out here and let it put you through its paces!! LoL

It's a sweet ride. Chris King hubs, BB, headset. Shimano Saint rear derailure. And they said it couldn't be done! I had a custom axle machined out of chrome-moly!
Sounds like fun SS.
