Canon Mirrorless... Is it still alive?
HI! I am new here, but I purchased the M3 package that you mention about a month ago.
I was coming from a Canon DSLR so it was important to me that I would not have to buy new glass. Because my DSLR was about 6 years old there was a lot new with the M3. My wife complained about how all I did for a week was read about and play with the camera.
On thing I found out very quickly though was that I was not happy with using my Canon EF lenses with the M3 and the adapter. The M3 did a lot of focus hunting with the EF lenses. I am not sure why that is but it does not seem to do the same with the EF-M kit lens.
Over all I am very happy with the M3. I purchased the EF-M 22mm lens which I highly recommend. The M3 is a significant improvement over my old XSi. The size and weight are just what I was looking for. But cameras are like hats. One size does not fit all no matter what the label says. The best thing is go to a camera store and try it on for size. If you already have EF lenses, I would suggest to take them with you to try on the camera.

It took a while and I resisted, but I finally saw the light.... I also have a fully functional Canon system and was thinking seriously of going full frame, but for what ? heavier and more expensive glass ? My bones and legs are not getting any younger and I kept looking and looking at the various mirrorless systems; After a lot of research the Olympus Pen-f with the 14-40 2.8 Pro lens just seemed to jump out of the pack... retro look didn't hurt that much either. I don't care if it comes by the Borax 20 mule team, as long as it comes; I am ecstatic. I think each system will have its place. I really like the great variety of M43 lenses available.

Thank you for your comments. I did purchase the M3 package with the EVF as well. I did use the EF100MM L2.8 and the EF70-200MM L4 with the EF-M adapter and it seemed to work OK. I have not tried with other EF lenses that I have. I am thinking about getting the EF-M 22MM lens also. Glad to know that you like it. Where did you buy the 22mm lens?
