No Blurry, you're wrong. The man was released on his own recognizance, police have to investigate any murder even if it was justified as this was. You're flying off the handle and sound like Idaho...that's not a compliment.

That is not what the local TV station reported, here they usually investigate first before charging, I think that it is that way in most states, the news article says he was charged, it says nothing of his release on his own recognizance. Guess that you have done some further reading that I have not seen.

Yes, a little different story than the TV station reported, don't think that he would have been charged in Texas, probably would have been charged in Florida.

I think most states would require a grand jury but what juror would charge him? Not here in PA.

Not sure what you are talking about, it would seem that I was suckered by shoddy reporting, but I don't know what your problem is with our laws here.

If you are not familiar with a few very high profile cases that have taken place in Florida and Texas with regard to stand your ground, I could see where you wouldn't understand my remarks. That's okay though.

In Florida if the rapist was a white man and the husband a black man the husband would be in jail. If it were the other way around we would have never even heard about it.

You didn't have a poor source or shoddy reporting, what you said was correct at the time written, I just had a later report, so it's all good.

I guess that you are talking about the Trayvon Martin case, you don't find it inconvenient that the witness testimony along with the evidence in that trial is what exonerated Zimmerman.... He was tried and found to be innocent, so what is your beef? The cops were right not to charge him in the first place based on those facts which they were fully aware of at the time of the incident... Maybe you just bought in to the media hype a little too much. I live within 30 miles where that took place and was well aware of the trial every step of the way and never felt that he would be convicted based on eyewitness testimony that was released early on that the media for the most part chose to ignore.

For starters, I haven't any beef at all. I feel that Florida justice isn't necessarily something to be touted and this may be an example to some. You can argue all day long about Zimmerman and perhaps justify any conclusion you wish, but it doesn't elevate Florida. (Just for giggles,I make several trips a year and have a lot of family in Oveido.)

I guess to each his own, I have few problems with Florida's laws, would not want to see much change other than Miami's Sanctuary City law and local ordinances not allowing me to take my dog to the beach.

The FL jury did make a huge error with the Casey Anthony case.

Zimmy's been skating around the law a long time, I expect him to someday be residing in a cell.
