Over 40 years ago the United States declared a War on Drugs. Taxpayers have poured over a trillion dollars into the program and what do we have to show for it: 2016 - MANY PLACES IN THE USA SUFFER FROM A HEROIN EPIDEMIC.
It occurred to me recently that maybe DRUGS ARE LEGAL. As a parallel example, if you check out the Garden State Parkway during rush hour, when all the workers are going to or from work in a 65 MPH zone, many are going 75 miles per hour. Thousands and thousands of drivers are going well over 70 and nobody gets pulled over. So what is the REAL SPEED LIMIT, well it must be over 70 because hardly anyone is being pulled over. Will NJ change the speed limit signs, NO, advertising the lower speed limit sends a message the that NJ government is a good steward toward safety.
Same way with Heroin or other drugs, we let all the suppliers put as much heroin into New Jersey as they can and every once in a while a supplier gets arrested. The government couldn’t announce that Heroin is legal because the moral population would be outraged; but by its lack of supplier arrests, the government is saying: HEROIN IS LEGAL. Heroin suppliers have a very low risk of getting caught, and since the money is really good, business is doing great. I’m saying that the DE FACTO STANDARD is: HEROIN IS LEGAL in NJ.
Too bad they can't find a way to tax the s**t out of heroin sales!
I'm surprised that NJ has such a bad problem with drugs since Gov. Christie is so against them. I think every state is having trouble, I live near a city that has a lot of trouble with drugs, k*****gs, etc. Such a terrible way to live... Other crimes always accompany drugs.
