saw this on the World-Wide-Webbie...
thing......
A pair of glasses were left on the floor at a museum and everyone mistook it for art
Oh that is a hoot! If you have ever been to a MOMA, this is pretty easy to believe.
I guess this proves ART is in the EYE of the beholder.
Somehow, that doesn't surprise me.
I wonder why the wood grain doesn't match, one picture to the next?

...Probably because this is a non-story all made up as lots are on the internet!
You are so observant EX-TELCO !

The UPI covered it as news.
Well at least it was a break from nothing but crime being reported....
....thanks for showing us that post....Tom
OK, one that happened a few decades ago. It was a pre-internet phenom on network news and in newspapers for a few days.
Two janitors at a school had an old locker door that had chunks cut out of it for repair projects. It sort of resembled an outline of a cat.
There was an art exhibit in the school gym, one section was Modern Art and it had a sculpture section. As a joke one night before the judging they rearranged the exhibits, added an extra pedestal and put the old piece of metal on it with the label "Peterfied Cat" (couldn't spell petrified).
Guess what got 1st place in the modern art sculpture exhibit?
When the judges could not find the paperwork or an "artist" the janitors went to admin and fessed up. The "Art" types were not very amused. Everyone else was.
Yes, I saw a couple of articles about that. TV comedies have done the same thing. A man visiting a museum will leave a package temporarily somewhere while he gets something out of his pocket, and people think it's art.
"I don't know much about art, but I know what I like." :D
I'm going to open up a gallery with a showing of my old glasses.😊😊😊
Good observation, EX-TELCO. Also, from the way the glasses are positioned in relation to the floor it doesn't seem likely the were just "left" on the floor. BUT, given some of the exhibits I've seen, it could happen.

I imagine the guy who did this could have positioned the glasses in more than one place.
