Call 800 Nikonusa for an exact answer. Talk to a tech. As for me I have had mine for over 1 & 1/2 YEARS and have not had a problem. In fact most times I have forgotten all about it.

My 750 goes with me on airplanes, in my truck, and frequently on my motorcycle, and I have never had the screen open when I didn't want it to. I agree with the others that said it was probably opened up slightly in the packaging. It would have been nice if Nikon had used a design similar to that on the D5200/D5300, etc that can reverse the screen, but I really have had no problems whatsoever with the flip out screen. A rubber band would hold it closed but I think this is unnecessary. Even while hiking with it bouncing around on a neck strap, I have never had it open.

Good to know. Sounds like you've put this camera to some rugged and pretty fun tests. At this point, I'm going to watch really closely how the screen behaves and if it is looser than standard issue gear or if I'm just not handling it in the right way. I'm pretty careful, so I'll see soon. Thank you for your input.

Check with the Duct Tape Council of America, I'm sure they have an approved application for the tilt out.
