Here in Florida we had early v****g and lots of things such as Sunday v****g to enable people to v**e. After the e******n of a liberal (and black!) president the GOP decided to dramatically reduce the ability of people to v**e and even passed laws imposing stiff fines on those who register people to v**e if they did not do it in precise ways - thus intimidating even the League of Women V**ers. Makes you wonder how anyone can think that encouraging Americans to v**e is a bad thing...

The crucial part of the above statistic is the "up to" part. What that means is that the poll results are vastly different depending on how the question is phrased.

Option A: "Do you support reasonable v**er ID laws in order to prevent v***r f***d as long as it is administered fairly and doesn't disenfranchise people who are legally allowed to v**e?"

Option B: "Do you support a GOP version of v**er ID law that would be designed to suppress v**es from legitimate citizens who are members of groups who predictably v**e primarily Democrat?"


Option A is where you get the 72%

Option B is where you would get approximately 0%

No, John, please don't play stupid. I've explained this to you and others here at least half a dozen times myself, and others have gone over it many many times, regarding they ways that Republicans have designed and administered the "v**er ID" laws which purposely disenfranchised large numbers of legal v**ers, by picking and choosing which forms of ID would be acceptable (like gun permits are mostly Republican v**ers), and which ones would not be acceptable (like Student ID's which are more Democrat v**ers). Closing state ID offices in Democrat areas, to coincide with the new v**er ID laws, refusing to inform the public properly ahead of time, making the communications about the changes purposely confusing, and many other tactics that, together, make it very clear about the true purpose of many of these "v**er ID laws" being to suppress Democrat v**es in disproportionate numbers rather than the stated purpose of the laws. And just in case any questions remained as to what the true purpose was, there have been a whole slew of Republicans who have publicly admitted that the true purpose was to give the Republican Party the advantage in e******ns.
