What bird left this feather?

I found this feather on my doorstep. There are several small birds making nests behind the shutters on the front of my townhouse ..I rent, and this is the first spring I have been here. They are small VERY fast birds and I have not been able to get a good look at them.

Is this a feather from a finch or maybe a warbler? The birds I have seen seem to be mostly brown in body color. Of course maybe the feather is from some other bird just passing through.

Any ideas?

Maybe photo & post it again, beside a ruler - to show the size?

Sorry, cosmo54 I don't have the foggiest idea of what the name of this bird is. If you can, have him stop by my place for a photo shoot, I pay top scale.

Uh, you'd better pay top dollar cause that's a long flight from NJ 😁

If a smaller bird, 2 possibilities may be a Orchard Oriole or a Pine Warbler,
both somewhat rare birds

Looks like Gold finch primary flight feathers to me.

feather is about 2 1/2 inches long. (i'm at work and feather is at home :-) )

I was going to guess gold finch, but when I looked that up, it didn't really look like the example feathers.

The feather is from a northern flicker, a woodpecker. Hint-it was formerly know as "yellow-shafted flicker". There is also a "red-shafted Flicker".
