This was taken at the Loess Hills State Forest scenic outlook. A very interesting place, it was my first time visiting there. I was going to stay and take some more photos after the blue hour but I was all alone up there and when the sun went down and the moon came up, Coyotes began howling and I could tell they were all around me. I've never heard of Coyotes attacking a human, but who knows what would happen if I were to chance upon one and startle it. I decided it was best to get the heck out of Dodge.

A super sunset shot, Whuff - and so glad to know you weren't eaten by coyotes on your way back!

What a beauty! And of course, the way to deal with coyotes is simply go *BEEP BEEP* and explain that you're a large Roadrunner. They've learned their lesson after falling off that cliff a hundred times and all those anvils falling on their heads. They'll leave you strictly alone and go for easier prey.

Very nice sunset Whuff Your description of the situation after the lights went off reminded me of why I carry a small point and shoot as backup

They have, but the pack has to be really, really hungry, and the human has to be injured or incapacitated. There's a lot of easier prey for them than us.
