I had an opportunity to shoot a collegiate level football game and here are a few of my favorites. If you're a pro with this type of photography, I'd welcome the feedback! And, if this works, I must send a personal thanks to gessman who walked me through the needed steps!
Great shots . super focus and good choice on the shutter speed really shows the action. job well done.

Cool stuff Kathi. I had a feeling that you had something to contribute. I'm not a pro but I've shot a few football games. My oldest son coaches a semi-pro team of which there are about 200 teams nationwide and he led his team to the finals of the elimination process a couple of years ago which was in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, his team lost. I shot some of their games and will share with you when we get the question answered. Meantime, your shots are extremely good, clear, with just a tad of blur on the hand and ball in the first one which I like. I prefer just a slight to moderate hint of motion to show what the action is that's happening. Extremely good job. I'm anxious to see more a little later.
Thanks. I hope I get the chance!
Greaat shots......I like to take sports shots also
Wow, tack sharp photo's... Awesome!!!!
Great , love them ... sports photos can be so hard .
Thanks to all for the positive feedback! I was surprised at much I enjoyed taking pictures at the game since I know so little about football.
I have taken alot of images of the Bengals throughout the 80's, with minimal equipment and using film. So these don't compare to digital quality in the least. I never used autowind. I may have gotten so better shots, I also would not have developed the timing skill that I did. I have added photoshop effects to these old negs. to try to create an artistic feel about them. Please keep in mind these are old negs. Some not so sharp which I feel at this time gives the dream-like effects of yesteryears.
very cool! some look more like paintings than photographs! Lucky that have the ability to have both! Here are a few more from my shoot.
