The Canon S5is is a bridge camera - so I been reading here someplace.
I am not sure what that means and what are the advantages/disadvantages?

I just bought an Olympus SP 810...a bridge camera.It is a good kind of camera to have if you can't quite afford the lenses just yet for your DSLR.And I carry it with me in my Jeep for grabbing shots in a hurry.
