When was the last time you saw one of these? An actual working phone booth. I found this in Kelly Iowa. At first I thought it was a unique display but I picked up the receiver and there was a dial tone.

How funny about actually hearing a dial tone - must have been surreal :)

Great angle of view to catch the telephone receiver (is that right word, I can't remember - lol) and cord. Very eye-catching pp. Do you have any wider view shots? Just curious about the setting.

I didn't take any wider view but it was on the Main Street of town and next to a covered bus stop which had a mural depicting someone using a pay phone. Now that I think about it, the town wasn't big enough to even have a bus. I just checked and the population is listed at 309. Hmmmm....... No wonder it didn't look used. If I ever get back there I should get a picture of both.

Are we getting old when we can remember when no one had a cell phone?

Yup. You do see pay phones once in a while but rarely a working phone booth such as this one. Many convenience stores have pay phones at the front of their buildings but not in a booth.

I'm sure no one would've questioned that.

There are two within a few blocks of my home and they're said to be the last two in NYC.
