Yes, yes, I know I have put on three shots in a row. I want to get the Macro thing out of my system.
This is blue dragonfly, they are hard to sneak up on. Taken with a 60mm Macro, hand held ( hand is a bit shaky now)

love his pattern and color - that must have been a tough shot. How close were you? Unless this is a substantial crop, I would guess less than a foot away or closer, no easy thing for sure!

I was about 10 inches away, I had to stand in an awkward position, I was in a blackberry thicket. It took off about 2 seconds after I took the shot.

When I am trudging through the bush I do not have the luxury of choosing the lighting, have to shoot in situ, some work, some don't.

I'll be checking my black berries for teeth marks. Well done considering randomeyes.

I'm on board with the others......this is a very nice shot. Wow! Those dragonfly have delicate wings don't they? The color is great and it was fun reading the story that you have shown us here.

Exceptional shot - great color and detail. Hope you made it out of the berry patch unscathed!

Wow, spectacular color and sharpness for your particular situation. In the briars, heh? How many scatches, scrapes, and cuts do you have? They can certainly be extremely difficult to deal with and you may have some reminders of where you were, on your arms and legs! Very well done - congrats on your excellent photographic capture!

Best Regards,
Tom

Nice shot bit I am wondering if you shot mre wide open would you have been able to get more bokeh and reduced the distracting colors and shapes in the background. I am not able to ascertain the setting you used.

Cannot remember the setting, was about 4 years ago. One has only seconds to get these guys, a puff of wind and they're gone. My main objective was the dragonfly in focus.
