Hi: I just wanted to follow up with you all who had helped me in deciding what photo to put in our town's Amateur Photo Contest - Open Category. I did put the Butterfly in and the judges seemed to like it's clarity and color, but said the print was too saturated. Oh well, win some, loose some. But, I told you that I would post the other photos I entered after the contest was over. There were a lot of entries, I did pretty well. My daughter, beat me out in four categories and I'm very happy for her. I hope she lets me post some of her entries. I entered 18 photos and got awards in 14 from 1st place to 4th place. By I was happy that I got first place and "Best of Show" with a photo of my daughter, Lorna. I hope you enjoy and let me know what you think of the images. Cheryl

Thanks, that kitten gets into more things. I sort of yelled at her and I think she was knew she shouldn't have been in that jug. I never know with these contests what to enter, because professional photographers are the judges and it's subject to their likes. But, these happen to be women judges and maybe they judge differently then men and I got lucky. Thanks for your kind words. Cheryl
Congratulations. Really nice photos. Lorna is beautiful and makes a great subject!
ongrats! Very nice photos, easy to see why you placed/won so many. :)
Thank you for your replies. One thing that they do when judging these photos is critique each photo. So, at least, you know what you did right or wrong. Then, you have some way of knowing how to improve your shots. Many contests, you get no critiques and wonder "well what could I have done better." It was fun to participate. Cheryl
These are beatiful photos!

Great, great photos!! These could compete with the pros!! I agree on the judges critiqueing. I have had it both ways and it really helps to know what they were thinking.

A lot of shots to go through. Obviously, we are all going to have different favorites. But, I must say, I am envious. You do very nice work. Many of those shots are ones I would LOVE to call my own. Beautiful daughter.
