Apparently University of Easy Anglia (UK) has banned the throwing of mortar boards in the air after graduation on "health and safety" grounds.

They also want to charge for "photoshopping" them in to the photograph.

I can't find one incident of anyone being injured by a falling mortarboard, but then I was at a safe distance when my son threw his! Hard hats in University colours under the mortarboard?

I think they all should have chin straps tied tightly around their heads.

I heard that on the BBC the other day. Apparently the Mortar Boards cost £45 and they wanted to photoshop them into the picture at a cost of £8 per student, after they pretend to be throwing a none existent Mortar Board into the air.
