I have the Olympus OMD-E-M10 and the Sony A6000 and like them both. Each has some things it can do better than the other.

Two questions to ask yourself: Image stabilization or not - and big hands or small.

THE most important part is how a particular camera feels in your hand. So why not do some testing yourself. The body has to fit your hand.

I absolutely agree! If the camera feels awkward and uncomfortable when you are using it, your photography will ultimately suffer because operating the camera will distract from concentrating on what you are trying to capture. Button and dial lay-out, weight distribution and body shape all play a role regarding this. Many camera shoppers are so focused on the technical features aspect, they often fail to take the ergonomics of a camera into consideration at all.

I recently posted a question on who had the best glass in a mirrorless system among Fuji, Olympus, Sony, or Panasonic. It turned out to be a 7 page thread and had great info.

One poster brought out a good point, besides the glass, about what a person is shooting and some cameras would be better suited for those situations.

So to expand on that, from those with experience, which mirrorless camera/system would you recommend for family gatherings and vacation/landscapes. I do not shoot sports, birds in flight, etc. Fastest object would be 2 year old toddler!

Many thanks.

My intro to digital photography was via a high-end compact camera with a wonderful lens and an itty-bitty sensor. Everything went fine until I tried to capture my 2-year-old grandchild rocketing up the walls and across the ceiling. I began researching DSLR's and came upon the Sony a6000. Found I could get an entire "kit" (camera and four lenses) into a small camera bag, over my shoulder, as I boarded the airplane. Also found that I could stop my grandchildren in mid-flight with that camera...and, their Yellow Lab at the height of her leap into the pond (that dog cannot outrun or outjump 11fps). I've yet to find another small lightweight camera that can keep up with my grandkids and their animals. (from what I can read the new Fugifilm X-Pro2 can apparently match it's speed...but, it can't match the price).

P.S.: I just acquired a "near new" RX100III, to replace my Canon S100 for pocket-size "grab & go". I've only owned it a week, and I'm already doubting it's capable of getting the shot as quickly as the larger a6000/a6300 (with latest firmware updates) can.
