I am new to UHH and so far I have found the decisions to be very informative so thank you.
A bit of background I shoot using a Nikon D5100 The majority of my photos are infant, children, family, senior pictures. I also shoot an occasional wedding and special request shots. I have been taking pictures for 10 plus years recently went digital. I would like to establish a serious business in the near future.
My question is where is the best place to send pictures for printing?

If you have a local Cosct I would suggest you check them out. They do a wonderful job on printing and will do packages for pros also. And your file info and Copyright are printed on the back of every print.

I use Meridian Color Labs in Iowa. THey are fast (4 days) and deliver by FedEx. They hand color/density correct each photo, and they do fantastic work with great prices.

Contact Greg@Jackscamera.com in Muncie Indiana. FABULOUS! He does everything from 4x6 to HUGE. The largest I've had done is 56x37 and it's a knockout. I wouldn't use anyone else.

I have used CPQ for over 20 years. They do a great job and they also do drop shipping so you can have your pictures shipped direct to who at no additional cost. From the time you email the pictures until recived is 3-4 days.

Try to find a local camera shop and try them out. I find it is better to deal with someone I am able to talk to and look him /her in the eye. Costco my do some printing but if you want special papers etc. they are not able to supply them.

We have a Sam's club in the area that does great photos on the spot. I usually put the CD in the kiosk, tell it what to print and what size and go have a slice of pizza. Even the 16x20s are done within an hour. I get 5x7's for .38, 8x10's for 1.46, 8x12's 1.46, 11x14 2.87 and 16x20's for 5.96. These are printed on large stand printers, either Epson or HP. The photos come out great. As someone else said though they only have one style paper. If you wanted silk, canvas, linen, finishes or a warmer tone paper you would not be able to get those at Sam's.

I'm giving ShortRunPosters a try. Saw them posted on here one time by someone else. Said they were good so.........takes about 5 to 7 days from placing order to receiving. If you're tight on budget give them a look.

I usually use Nations Photo Labs. Fast and great customer service. A vast array of quality products plus very reasonable pricing.

They also have the Kodak Metallic paper which is Excellent for wildlife. Also you can download printer profiles and you can also have printed with No Corrections if you choose. Their photos match my screen 100% so far, the most important feature for me.
