Epson printer leaving black streaks on paper

I have been having an issue lately with my Epson XP620 printer. Ever since I tried printing on photo paper, my printer has been leaving black lines and streaks on the paper whenever I try to print on documents and other items on regular paper. I have cleaned the print heads and done all of the usual maintenance checks and I only use Epson OEM inkjet cartridges ( and yes, they are recently changed and full). Any ideas about the cause of this problem?

The photo paper could be to thick and making contact with the print head.

I sometimes have this happen when I use 8.5 x 11 Epson Ultra premium papers.

Usually it's at the bottom of the sheet.

I think the thicker paper lifts up a little when it pops free of the rollers.

Try turning the plain paper over so it curls the opposite direction.

That's my WAG

Good luck

If these marks are on the BACK of the paper, they are most likely left from printing to the very edge of your paper without any borders. Try printing your photos with a .125" border on every side and see if this helps. Best of luck.

I'm watching this with interest as my Canon Pro 100 does the same thing - with any paper other than Canon photo paper!

What I said about printing to the very edges MAY be applicable as well. I know this is an issue with my Epson R3000.

Just reread the OP's opening statement and now realize the problem has to do with plain paper.

I'm not sure why this would be happening. Is there a chance that you've gone to a heavier paper?

No, same weight and type of paper. I am wondering, though, if I might have put the photo paper in the wrong tray when I used that.

Just watched a short video about your printer and see that it has a rear feed. Have you tried plain paper via that method to see if the ink problem is still present.

No I haven't. Thanks for the heads up.
