http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NOaEzG-q6MNot sure how many of y'all out there, are country music lovers, I love quite a bit of it, but this is one of my very favourite pieces.
Brooks & Dunn perform it & may I say, better than the guy who owned it, George Strait.
I've had it for a while now but thought I'd share it with UHHers.
Great melody, Great lyrics & in this case a fantastic Backing for B&D. Love the Singing Guitars & the droning fiddle. Ronnie Dunn has a magnificent voice. Shame it sings some shit songs, but can't all be winners.
I have not heard of Mr Straight, but that is a very sweet song.

Come on Mollie, you should get out more & smell the roses.
George Strait is the girls fave in country music in America, Country Music is big over there.
He's the pinup guy there, my wife even joined his fan club a few years back.
But this was about Brooks & Dunn singing Georges song, & did it better.
Enjoyed that.
Can we see if we can get a chain of recommended hits going.
Here is George returning the favor by doing one of their big hits while they sit on the side and watch:

I am a big country music fan. Many of the older country singers sang some great songs and George Stait is one of them. Country is about all I listen too anymore, other than some easy listening songs. This new music isn't what I call music anyway.

CM is usually about winning a heart or losing a heart, a broken heart, or losing a horse, very often sad, but above all, you can hear & understand the lyrics.
The instrumentals are melodic, clear & expertly performed, unlike much of the contemporary pop rubbish.
Long live Country music.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiWp7XUTO4sGreat clip. When good musoes perform good tunes, it shows their quality. George sang that one well, certainly no better than B&D. But B&I'd did, in my opinion sing Georges Cowboy song better than he did. FWIW.
They're quality entertainers.
Thanks for sharing the link, forgot how much I loved George.
That's a great song and done well by B&D, but it can't match George's version--just my opinion. Nobody can out-sing George Strait He is the king of country music, hands down.

I had the privilege of seeing Brooks and Dunn on their "final" concert tour. Jason Aldean was the opener. But, Brooks and Dunn sang for three hours. That was, by far, the best concert I have ever been to. I agree with you Bunko....Ronnie Dunn has a magnificent voice!

Mollie is Aussie, so be gentle with her. Your country music isn't promoted very heavily here, including George Strait.
For those of us who are familiar with it, are devotees.
We have our own style of C&W music, which is great too. Different but similar, if ya know what I mean.
It all tells a story with clear lyrics, clear melody, no screaming etc.
I agree she's in for a treat, Go Mollie!!
Agree 100% , I am a big fan of Brooks & Dunn and I do think they performed it better than George can.
Very well done. Love country music....Rich
