Yosemite always offers iconic world class photo ops. No matter how often you visit, you find new images or new ways to show the old subjects. I'll not post any of the usual images that are seen so often, you have probably seen them many times and quite possibly better ones that I could post. This post is to show you the unique environment for climbing sheer rock surfaces. The first image is the face of El Capitan from the meadow below. The second image is a zoom-in on a climber's overnight home on the rock face. It is about half way down the face from the top and about 40% of the distance from the right edge of the image, below and to the left of the small dark shadow. The first image was taken with my Nikon D800e and the close-up was taken with my Canon SX-50/HS from the same spot. Both were hand held. Most of my images during the trip were made with the Nikon D800e.
Beautiful and sharp shot of El Capitan. Well done.
Both are awesome. The climber's campsite is really interesting. What an experience.
Great capture. Perfect texture and super sharp.
