The dam birds just won't leave me alone. This one looked like she was dancing with that errant burst of water from the release chute. All feedback is appreciated, as always.
such a strange, moody, wonderful place you have Minnie. For me, the one splash detracts a little (because it makes me look at it instead of the flapping hero), but love the motion of the water and ol flapper-yapper. I also find the top center area very interesting and am sorry that it got lopped out of the image. If you can swing it, this place deserves a telephoto lens or something so you can also get up close and personal when you wish - these birds in this wet, wild, and this light surely deserve that!

Thanks Piet! It is a fun place. And it has already taken me to the limits of my tele lenses, this is all I can do:(
I've looked at a 200-400 lens but it will take some penny-pinching for a while to get it. I may have some other shots with more of those weird looking stairs but in all honesty the strange water spout was what made me like this one. I know, I'm not normal. It's been said before...

You are not normal! LOL - I think much is about what we have available and what you get used to - I never see birds like that, so I just love those long legged awkward things to pieces - especially in your dammed water park.

After careful review I've come away with no conclusions. As a playful shot I like the water spout....as a serious piece it distracts from your subject minniev.
The burst of water could be the Loch Ness Monster.
In addition, I like the composition of the photo and the misty feeling of it.

Minnie, I think by now you have it all wrong !!! Its not the dam birds won't leave you alone. Its you won't leave the damn birds alone !!! LOL.
I like the processing, colors and lighting here. The burst of water doesn't bother me at all. Nice work. When is your next return trip? As I'm sure there will be one.

I suspect you're right Frank. There are some without the dancing water. It made me think a bit of Peter Lik's Ghost, but I don't think it'll earn me millions...

A creature conjured from Beneath The Dam..

You're right. I can't stay away. I am getting to know the individual birds who live there, and have taken some in the series that I call Bird Street- birds going about their daily routines. May post a few...
Thanks, Dave, for your feedback and encouragement!

Very mysterious looking photo... I wonder if anyone sees a possible figure emerging from the water... It seems to have a face... It jumped out at me immediately.

That's why I named it as I did. It refers to a ballet dance by two dancers - bird and the Water Ghost
If there is anything I am seeking in the Dam Bird series, it is for someone to think they are mysterious, so thank you!!
