Hi Susan.
Welcome to the forum.
I use an XTi and really like it. I bought a used 7D from one of the Hogs, and it's nice, but the weight, with a battery grip, kinda sucks.
Don't overlook the search button at the top. Lots of good answers to your tech. questions.
Or, just ask.

I'm glad you said that about the 7D, because I always wanted one but my husband was dragging his feet; said they were too expensive. Now I am glad. I really do like my camera. What I really want are always more and more lenses. :)
Welcome to the group, enjoy!

I'd like to point out that the battery grip, with the extra battery, adds weight. Plus, the 24-105 f/4 zoom, adds to the mix. My 7D is my sports camera, and the 24-105 zoom works well for the motorsports I like to shoot. Lose the battery grip and use a "nifty-fifty" and it may not be heavy at all.
Lots of good deals on used 7D's out there, now that the 7D MK-II is out. (Less than 700 dollars). I gave $650 for one with a battery grip.
I kept buying lenses, until I found a good deal on my 7D. Now I just want lenses that I really can't afford. Like the Canon 200-400.
