Thank you for your time and comment. Lot of men and women sacrificed everything in both World Wars.

This was suppose to be the War to end all Wars. 21 years later we had another war. WW2. Thanks for sharing these photos. Interesting.

Thanks for your post.

I will remember my grandfather, who had a hole through his ear and a scar from there to the back of his head. He also walked with the aid of a stick (cane in the US). He was one of the thousands sent over the top on the first day at The Battle of the Somme on July 1st 1916. He always considered himself one of the lucky ones as although he was shot through his ear and leg, he made it back home.
