Wires wires everywhere

There's really nothing special about this photo but I find it kind of fascinating. The neighborhood I grew up in had few overhead wires and the neighborhood I live in has no overhead wires, none. This looks like an aerial rats nest...

I also "find it kind of fascinating". The image itself, but also the techniques and compositional tools used to make it a fascinating visual experience.

And all that does make it something special. Thanks for posting it!

As a UK resident I consider the wires which criss cross US towns an absolute nightmare, they ruin an otherwise good photograph and spoil the general appearance of what could be a very attractive place.
In the UK most cities, towns and villages you will never see anything like this spaghetti of wires as they are buried underground which also has the bonus of not being affected by snow or wind.
I attach a photo of a small village near me which shows what I mean, the local council also bans TV aeriels and satellite dishes from view.

Reminded me of an intersection in Viet Nam on my visit there.

It would criminal to destroy the beauty of such a place with a maze of overhead wires. If they can be buried they should.

The thing about the photo I posted; I was standing about 30 feet from the Atlantic Ocean and the island is about 5 blocks wide at that spot. Digging ditches to bury cables would result in hitting lots of water so it's cheaper and more practical to string them overhead.

I attach a couple of photographs of Lytham town centre, a small coastal town near Blackpool in the North West of the UK.
They both show typical street scenes which can be seen anywhere in England, there are a few points I would like to highlight:

1: There are no overhead wires which is usual for the majority of UK towns and cities, even those next to the sea.
2: The bus has not developed a fault with its suspension, the driver is able to lower the left side of the vehicle so that the step is level with the kerb for easier exit and entrance.
3: The "Pie Man" has just arrived with a supply of fresh pies for the local branch of Greggs, which is the largest bakers chain of shop in the UK.
