I thought I would post these taken this morning and printed 11 by 14 this afternoon. A plain background makes a big difference!
Rhododendron are cousins of Azaleas. The blossoms look just like clusters of Azalea blossoms. Generally by the time the last blossom in the cluster opens, the first are turning brown around the edges. Had to look hard at a whole bush to find these.
These taken with Canon T3i and Sigma 50mm F/2.8 Macro lens. I think this lens is MUCH sharper than my extended zoom Sigma 28-200!
Both are beautifully composed and photographed. I certainly see why you printed 11x14!
Thanks Pianist and Linda. My wife volunteered to hold a piece of black mounting board for the background. I had to extend the black background on the left with Photoshop to get a reasonably nicely placed image in the 11 by 14 format.
Both are stunning shots with great color. I do love the dark background to really accentuate the flowers.
